Hardwar is a rare find in commercial retailers today. It's an old game (1998). If you find it, however, it's always sold at a discount price. I found my first copy at Babbages for $5.00! You'll fare better trying to find it listed on auction sites like E-Bay.

The Hardwar ISOs

If you have any sort of connection better than dial-up. You might want to download the ISOs for the F2.1 version CDs. Here's the Hardwar ISO Download Page.

Getting CDs

This site hosts the email addresses of volunteer CD burners. These guys will burn and mail you copies of the CDs at no cost. Some may need postage.

If you would like to volunteer to burn Hardwar CDs yourself, please email me with your email address and what part of the world you are from.

ISOs

ISOs are mirror images of the Hardwar CDs available for download. There are two, one ISO for each CD. These must be downloaded and then burned onto two CDs to work. Then you've got your own full set of Hardwar CDs.

You'll need a CD burner and a high speed internet connection to use this option. The files are a huge download.

You can get the ISOs on popular file sharing systems like WinMX, KaZaa, or iMesh. Xaffax often hosts them on KaZaa and foetus just about permanently hosts them on WinMX and iMesh. foetus' filenames are:

Patched Demo

A quick, but somewhat incomplete way to get Hardwar is to download the demo and patch it with the U2.04 patch. You can get the whole kit at The Home Of The Underdogs abandonware site.

They provide three files. The demo, the U2.04 patch, and a zip file of some missing textures. This method will give you a fully functioning game, but you won't have the movies needed to follow the plotline. This can cause some problems if you try to follow the plot to get off of Titan and call a movie that doesn't exist. Otherwise, you can do anything you can do in the full version.

This site is currently working on a downloadable game that includes text messages instead of movies to make a 15MB download fully playable.
